My second project was on isolation shaping me as a person, and my view on Thoreau's ideas about living in a natural environment within the privacy of his house. The project on the website will discuss my perspective of loneliness and Thoreau's perspective of isolation in the natural environment. For some clarification, Henry David Thoreau was an American essayist, poet, a leading member of the transcendentalist, and philosopher.
ENGLIsh
The English portion of my project involved me reading and analyzing Walden and ON THE DUTY OF CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE by Henry David Thoreau. I read three chapters: Where I Lived, and What I Lived For, Solitude, and The Village. The chapters address Thoreau's perspective of the people in the village, the transcendental movement, and his perspective about living amongst the natural environment. For one of the chapters, Solitude, the principal idea of writing that chapter was about Thoreau being in isolation within his house, enjoying what nature tosses at him. He constantly mentions how beautiful the natural environment is, and is speechless about what to say: “As I walk along the stony shore of the pond in my shirt sleeves, though it is cool as well as cloudy and windy, and I see nothing special to attract me, all the elements are unusually congenial to me.” While examining the chapter, I scribbled down questions about solitude. For example, why do people avoid isolation? I wrote my perspective on each interrogatory and Thoreau's thoughts about seclusion.
I acknowledge that I struggled among understanding the difference between summarization and analyzation. I started by reading the three chapters and took essential notes to help understand Thoreau's perspective. Once I talked to my teacher, he explained how I should analyze the writing and what I should do to represent the thinking skill.
Walden, by Henry David, was a fundamental component of my English portion of my project. The chapters helped my understanding of Thoreau's theory about natural environmental segregation. The writing indeed helped me verify the perspective of isolation and why I think it's outstanding.
Social Studies
I typed journal entries/reflections regarding staying in a natural environment in complete isolation. I traveled to Rocky Ridge Park to capture photographs of my project, which was principally on separation. My mother, sister, and I took many pictures of our surroundings and were surprised at what we found there. It was my first time there, and one image that I caught took my breath away. When I got home, I wrote down my thoughts and experiences in a new environment. I even describe the leaves, trees, clouds, mountains, etc. Here's an example of one of my journal reflections: "Today life got super real with me. It was the last pleasant day before the autumn weather would begin bringing its cold breathing through the season. I needed to capture pictures of me being isolated in a natural environment for my project because I wouldn’t have the opportunity afterward. So, my mother, sister, and I traveled to Rocky Ridge Park to get remarkable uncontaminated photographs of the natural environment."
Concerning the additional half of my history portion, I read the book, Thoreau at Walden by John Porcellino. I read/analyzed the book plus, wrote down Thoreau's viewpoint on the pages that had my perspective. I even received details regarding the movement Thoreau was a member of, the intellectual movement. The transcendental movement is, “A literary and philosophical movement arising in 19th-century New England, associated with Ralph Waldo Emerson and Margaret Fuller and asserting the existence of an ideal spiritual reality that transcends the empirical and scientific and is knowable through intuition.” On page 80, he quotes, “Our village life would stagnate if it were not for the unexplored forests and meadows which surround it…” Once I wrote down his perspective, I would answer in my perspective by saying, "I can agree with Thoreau that if people were isolated from the environment, we humans wouldn’t have survived. We wouldn’t have vegetables, fruit, meat, grains, etc. We live off the Earth, and its resources, and I think people take that for granted, and I’m blameworthy of this too."
This season around, the history portion seemed uncanny because I continued doing more reading than I was about investigating the history of isolation. Though I fell like I enjoyed this history project, I believe it's probably one of the most successful history projects I've ever arranged in Apollo. I've used perspective when talking about my journal entries/reflections, including my perspective on the book, Thoreau at Walden book.

ART
For once, I accepted a tremendous chance with my art portion of my project and decided to design a painting utilizing the isolation technique. It was my first time painting in three year so I was quite scared of the outcome. At first, I had to investigate different websites concerning how to compose a composition or drawing of isolation, and how I could bring it to life. On a website, I came across a brilliant artist of the name, Edward Hopper, who was born in June 1882 and died in 1967. He was throughout during the time of machines and the Great War of 1918, where America was becoming a new man-made world. Nevertheless, I tried to see if his information could improve my painting, but first, I had to seize photographs at Rocky Ridge Park and Lake Williams and Lake Redman. I took at least 50 photos and recorded the sounds of my surroundings, and it was magnificent. Even though I was particularly outside for an hour, I believe that was all I needed for the project. I felt as if it was time to formulate my painting.
Description: That was supposed to be a picture of me walking down the road on Rocky Ridge Park and viewing the towering brown trees, the green autumn-colored leaves, tree shadows, and the blue sky. The painting was additionally meant to understand the artwork isolation, and it does by having me walk this pathway with everything being prominent, and me supposedly closer to the center. While I did research, the way the isolation art form operates is by having something far away from all the other objects in the image. It’s supposed to capture the feeling of loneliness.
This painting is one of the pictures at took at Rocky Ridge Park, which had me walk done the street surrounded by towering trees, leaves, blue sky, and fluffy clouds. It took me about a week to compose this composition, and I'm still perfecting it. I sketched my production by evaluating my photo several times on my phone, to obtain an understanding of what I desired my painting to look like. I had to layer it with other representations and use compositions that people wouldn't recognize in the environment. It felt weird at first, but I got through that period. Then I had to get used to the feeling of relaxing while I paint and not stress out about finishing the product. Since this was a short thinking skill, I couldn't help but not think about the deadline for the project is due. Even though I didn't finish it, I'm still willing to work on my art piece and work hard to get a hang on the isolation art technique.
perspective
Perspective is a particular attitude toward or way of viewing something, a point of view. Perspective also implies the ability to consider information concerning one another accurately and fairly. My teachers challenged me to be isolated from people, I'm continuously around, and be in a natural environment by myself. I thought it was an excellent approach to do a project on loneliness and to get my perspective of isolation, and understand how it shapes me as a person. My favorite piece of the project was capturing photographs of the natural environment and writing about them in my journal entries. Another component of the project I appreciated was painting, even though it was stressful towards the conclusion. The art portion furnished more admiration for the artist who dedicates their time to painting and has a genuine sensitivity for painting. I thought the composition wouldn't take as long but, I took extended than my project due date. This project taught me that perspective is significant to humanity, and without it, humans wouldn't be individuals. I hope those who observed my website and enjoyed the information researched from websites, and about myself, learned a thing or two about isolation.
